Shropshire Rifle Volunteers, a fine and rare officer’s blackened silver plate glengarry/shako badge c164-1880 a strung and ribboned bugle horn with ‘48’ (the county precedence number) between the strings and on a solid lined background a scroll at the base ‘Shropshire’; the corresponding other ranks type being all white metal with ‘48’ between the strings only; the officers’ pouch ornament being a silver plated version of the preceding item but having three screw post fasteners; 2nd Volunteer Battalion Shropshire Light Infantry a very rare other ranks cap badge c1897-1908 of brass originally blackened a strung bugle horn with ‘2nd VB’ between the strings on a solid lined background, scroll below ‘Shropshire’, excellent condition (4) £200-250
