International Fisheries Exhibition, South Kensington, 1883, a gold medal by L.C. Wyon and L.F. Day for Pinches, veiled and coronetted bust of Victoria left, rev. various types of fish, some in a net, 45mm, 62.35g (BHM 3153; E 1694; Allen Pt 3). With added loop for suspension and associated (?) mark on reverse, obverse surface wiped, otherwise nearly extremely fine, rare; in tan case of issue £4,000-£4,600

A sticker on the bottom of the case states that this medal was given to the Swedish delegate at the Exhibition.

This medal was presented to Prof. F.A. Smitt, the principal Swedish delegate at the Exhibition
