The Stolford Knight
14th century, a miniature church brass funereal figure in the form of a reclining knight, measuring, 8.5cm x 4.7cm, his left arm akimbo with his head resting on his right hand, looking upwards wearing a coif, around his waist is a surcoat, his legs are crossed which might indicate he had been on a crusade. Flat back with rivet holes at each end for attachment. Very rare and fine with an olive green patina £800-£1,000
Found at Stolford and Hinkley Point in the 1990s. Around 1120 there was a priory and a parish church at Stogursey.
