Military General Service 1793-1814, 3 clasps, Vimiera, Vittoria, St. Sebastian (Alexr. Weller, 9th Foot) slight edge bruise, very fine £1000-1200

Alexander Weller was born in the Parish of Cranbrook, Kent. A Bricklayer by occupation he enlisted into the 9th Foot on 25 August 1807. His records show that he was ‘wounded in the neck at Vimiera’ and received ‘a gunshot wound to the left thigh at St. Sebastian 31st Augt. 1813’. As a consequence of his second wounding, he was rendered unfit for further service and was ordered to the Depot on the Isle of Wight for a final determination of his case. As a result he was discharged on 24 April 1814. Clasps confirmed. Sold with copied papers and research.
