Three: Private A. P. Kearns, Grenadier Guards

Augustus Patrick Kearns was born in Limehouse, London on 8 August 1887. A cellerman by occupation, he attested for service in the Grenadier Guards at Stratford on 23 May 1906. Transferred to the Army Reserve on 23 May 1913, he was mobilized at London on 5 August 1914. With the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 6 October 1914. He was killed in action on 7 November 1914 and buried at Zantvoorde British Cemetery, Zonnebeke, West Vlaaderen, Belgium. Sold with copy Birth Certificate, copied service papers which list him being killed in action, copied m.i.c. which shows entitlement to clasp and modern photograph of gravestone.
