Taylor, London, obverse: soldier standing on guard on the coast, above, ‘Defence not Defiance’; reverse: within a wreath of oak and laurel leaves a scroll bearing the inscription, ‘London Rifle Brigade, Enrld. 1859’ (Colr. Serjt. G. Stuckey, Best Shot in O Compy. 1864), impressed naming, 34mm., silver, ring suspension, with ribbon; another (Pte. W. S. Smith, Best Shot in D Company 1882), pierced for suspension, these with minor edge bruising and contact marks, very fine; 3rd London Rifle Volunteers, Napier 1901, by Vaughton, Birmingham, reverse engraved, ‘Napier Challenge Cup won by Corpl. T. Newell, “E” Company’, 37 x 32mm., silver and enamel, hallmarks for Birmingham 1901, ring suspension, in case of issue, extremely fine (2) £100-140
