Waterloo 1815 (Captn. Wm. Smith, 11th Light Dragoons), 22mm., silver, with straight silver wire suspension, good very fine £300-400

William Smith was born on 24 June 1785, the second son of Ferdinando Smith of Halesown Grange, Worcestershire. He served as a Lieutenant in the 11th Light Dragoons in the Waterloo Campaign and was promoted a Captain in the same regiment on 30 October 1817. He died, unmarried, in India on 4 May 1824.
