James I (1406-1437), Groat, First fleur-de-lis issue, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, tressure of eight arcs, lis and two saltires on bust, saltire and i by neck, i on sceptre handle, rev. one small and three large pellets in first and fourth quarters, lis and pellet in second and lis and saltire in third quarter, lis in centre, lis stops both sides, 2.42g/5h (SCBI 35 –; cf. B 22a-c, fig. 460a; S 5195). Striking split at 2 o’clock and lightly tooled, otherwise nearly fine (£70-90)
