James III (1460-1488), Groat, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, tressure of eight arcs broken by bust, trefoils on most cusps, rev. cross before vil, annulet and three pellets in first and fourth quarters, mullet of six points in second and third quarters, double saltire stops both sides, 2.21g/10h (SCBI 35, 741-2; B 3, fig. 567; S 5264). Smoothed but good fine (£250-300)
