Henry Walter Lipscomb lived at New Cross, London and enlisted at Blackheath. Serving with the 1st/20th Battalion London Regiment, he was reported as wounded in the Territorial Service Gazette of 20 November 1915. He was killed in action on 21 May 1916 at Vimy Ridge, aged 18 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. He was the son of James William and Kate Lipscombe of Sportsman’s Cottages, West Malling, Kent.

Stoker 1st Class William Amos Lipscombe, Royal Navy, was killed in action on 10 November 1942, when the destroyer Martin was sunk by submarine in the Western Mediterranean, with the loss of seven officers and 154 ratings. He was the son of James and Kate Lipscombe and the husband of Francis Annie Lipscombe of Rochester, Kent. Sold with named condolence slip and forwarding box addressed to ‘Mrs F. A. Lipscombe, 47 Weller Avenue, Rochester, Kent’.
