D.C.M., London Gazette, 3rd June 1919: details, 11th March 1920. ‘During the period 15th September to 4th November 1918, for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has repeatedly prepared meals for his company under heavy fire and under exceptionally trying conditions. His work has been a great asset to the men of his company under all circumstances.’
