Charles Twysden Seale Brittan was born in Plymouth on 15 July 1883. A Fitter by occupation, he entered into the R.N.A.S. as a Petty Officer Mechanic on 19 March 1915, having served with the Gloucestershire Volunteers, 1904-06. Based at President III and Pembroke II (Wormwood Scrubs), he served with the Armoured Car Division at Hazebrouk, France. He was transferred as a Sergeant Mechanic to the R.A.F. on 1 April 1918 and later served with 253 and 242 Squadrons and 75 Wing. Sold with copied service papers.
