Ernest Holloway was born in Hertfordshire and enlisted in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in June 1884, aged 18 years. He subsequently served the Colours for 31 years and, apart from a tour of duty during the occupation of Crete in 1897-98, does not appear to have witnessed active service. He was awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal in AO 172 of 1904 and was discharged as a Quarter-Master Sergeant in August 1915; sold with copied research.
