Stephen (1135-1154), Local variants, Penny, Midland group, Lozenge Fleury and Annulets variant [BMC IV], Norwich, perhaps Jordan, [—]ian on norpi[—], legend reads outwards, 1.03g/4h (Allen, BNJ 2012, p.113; Mack 72ff; BMC –; N 897; S 1301). Hairline striking crack at 3 o’clock, obverse legend flat and portrait weak, centre of reverse fine and the mint-signature clear; perhaps the only recorded coin of this variant for the mint £700-£900
