William Vickery was born in Whitelackington, Ilminster, Somerset and served with the 1st Dragoons during the Great War on the Western Front from 8 October 1914. He died of wounds during the First Battle of Ypres on 13 November 1914, and is buried in Railway Chateau Cemetery, Belgium.
