Richard Stanley Carpenter was born at Down Ampney, Wiltshire, and served in France and Flanders with the 1st Battalion from 6 October 1914. He was killed in action on 19 October 1914, aged 26, and is buried in Perth Cemetery (China Wall), Zillebeke.

Sold with copied Medal Index Card which states ‘Death accepted 19.10.14’.
