Beauvais Hoard, Glendining Auction, 4 November 1987, lot 131 (part); St James’s Auction 3, 3 October 2005, lot 131 (sic)
In the Beauvais Hoard catalogue, lot 131 consisted of two die duplicates, the reading being ascertained from the other coin in the lot. The cataloguer (Peter Mitchell of Baldwin’s) commented... ’of the highest rarity (two in BM, ex Morgan Evans and South Kyme), the mint not identified, as Godefrei is otherwise unknown at this period (and, incidentally, is omitted from the Index of Moneyers in BMC).
