A rare Royal Navy Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate circa 1800
A most rare and superb quality example of oval gilt outline, the gilt back plate with a raised beaded rim and a lightly seeded ground, this mounted with an elongated diamond cut eight-pointed silver star, in the centre on a ground of rich blue vitreous enamel a silver-gilt fouled anchor, one hook and two stud fasteners, extremely fine £2,000-£2,400
