France, Yachting, c.1950, a bronze medal by A. Lavée for Arthus-Bertrand, on behalf of the Ministre de la Marine Marchande, two yachts sailing past a buoy, rev. wreath, 68mm; La Manche, 1950, a bronze medal by M. Renard, naked female reclining on the waves, fish around, longboat above, anchor and crossed oars below, rev. the French Channel coastline, fishing vessels and arms of the French provinces, 72mm (CGMP p.1560) [2]. Both extremely fine; first in maroon box of issue, second in original green fitted case, lid blocked in gilt ‘Course Croisière Cowes-Ouistreham 1953, Prix du Directeur Général du Tourisme (£60-80)
