1914 Star, with copy clasp (51803 Cpl. J. A. Claridge, R.F..); British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaves (51803 Sjt. J. A. Claridge. R.A.) mounted as worn and housed in a contemporary leather case, the lid embossed ‘J. A. Claridge, R.A.’; together with the related miniature awards, these similarly mounted, good very fine (3) £140-£180

James Archibald Claridge attested for the Royal Field Artillery and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 19 August 1914. Mentioned in Despatches, he was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery on 22 March 1917, and in the 1939 Register is recorded as a Captain and Adjutant in the Reserve of Officers.
