Alfred Lynch was born in Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia, and enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 6 March 1916. He served with a 19th Battalion during the Great war on the Western Front, and was killed in action 11 August 1918. He is buried in Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France.
