Charles Robin Napier Groom attested for the 28th (Artist’s Rifles) Battalion, London Regiment, and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 11 January 1915. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the East Kent Regiment on 18 November 1916, and saw further service during the Great War with the 1st Battalion.
Ernest Bettany was born in Stoke, Staffordshire, and originally attested for the South Staffordshire Regiment at Burslem. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front post-1916, and was killed in action on 27 September 1918. He is buried in Lowrie Cemetery, Havrincourt, France.
