Gouvernements Noots, £1 (2), Pretoria, 28 May 1900, serial numbers 17993 and 16759, upward pointing spikes in border, first with no watermark, second with ‘Colony of Cape of Good Hope’ watermark, first with spindle hole, a couple of pinholes, one small tear at fold, about very fine, second with pinholes and stains, back very scuffed, overall fine but with nice paper quality and an exceptionally clear watermark (2 notes)
