Wallace Barker, a Shoemaker from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, attested into the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Sherwood Foresters, in December 1904, before further service with the Territorial Force. He served during the Great War with the 1/6th Battalion on the Western Front from 28 February 1915 and was discharged on 27 August 1919. His Territorial Force Efficiency Medal was awarded under Army Order 178 of 1919.
