From Schwan-Boling: 1372c and 1374c are printer’s proofs, prepared when the presses were being set up, that have survived. Some were spoiled or attacked by silverfish; those sheets are being cut into single notes and offered for sale as unnumbered proofs. While they are a form of proof, they are not platemaker’s proofs.
