The Sir David Kirch Collection of Skit Notes

Bank of Venice, a Scottish skit note for 1 Shilling, Montrose, 31 August 1832, serial number 0/009, promising to pay ‘Fibbye Fowler or bearer on demand one shilling Sterling in Cash, or an Edinburgh twenty shillings bank note for twenty of these notes, value received’, with signature of Timothy Tickler, with a name at left that appears to read James Fore, an unusual piece, in that the bank name and other joke details such as names are filled out by hand, on a note that otherwise could well be genuine!
