James James is confirmed on the rolls as an Able Seaman in Queen Charlotte at Lord Bridport’s action with the French fleet off the Isle de Groix on 23rd June 1795 (177 clasps issued), and as Gunner in Calpe at the Gut of Gibraltar in 1801 (143 clasps issued).
