Presented by the Earl to those who remained loyal during the mutiny of the Mediterranean Fleet, which had followed the more serious mutiny of the Nore Fleet in 1797. Mostly awarded in silver to the crew of his flagship Ville de Paris, but several examples are known in gold. Some gold medals were struck on a thinner flan typically weighing 40.3g.
