‘In recognition of valuable services rendered with the Armies in France and Flanders.’

Alexander W. Kay attested for the Scots Guards and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 5 January 1915. Subsequently posted to the Guards Machine Gun Regiment, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.
