Gordon MacIntosh Perry was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from February 1916. Mentioned in Despatches, he subsequently transferred to the Guards Machine Gun Regiment, and was advanced Major on 8 November 1921.
