FRANCE, Crédit Commercial de France, c. 1935, an Art Déco bronze 30 Years Service award medal by L.-G. Bazor, robed female, building in background, rev. cornucopiæ and caduceus around central tablet, named (Monsieur Gustave Roux, 1919-1949), edge impressed bronze and cornucopia, 77mm, 240.17g (cf. MDC e5, 748; cf. iNumis MBS 43, 1514; cf. DNW 165, 1327). Obverse with some light spotting, otherwise about extremely fine £30-£40

The Crédit Commercial de France, which originated in 1894 as the Banque Suisse et Française and which was a major financier of the new Paris Métro, was renamed in 1917; the bank was acquired by HSBC in 2000
