William Chaffers (1811-92), antiquary and coin dealer, 20 Old Bond street, later at 14 Grafton street and by 1860 at 66 Jermyn street. One of the new breed of London dealers participating in the rising coin market of the 1850s and a notable buyer at the Cuff sale in 1854, Chaffers was listing gold 5-guinea pieces for 6 guineas (regardless of date), an 1839 £5 piece for 7 guineas (definitely at that time an original), an 1826 proof set for 11 guineas, an 1831 proof set for 10 guineas, and, for those who could afford it, an Oliver Cromwell 50 Shillings for £52 10s
