England, John Wesley (1703-91), founder of the Methodist Movement, white jasperware with dark blue dip and applied white relief portrait plaque by Wedgwood, Etruria, c. 1840s, bust left in gown and collar, after the portrait by Henry Edridge, 103mm x 83mm, stamped ‘Wedgwood Etruria’ on back. Pen marks on the back and scuffed around the edge, otherwise very fine and a scarce maker’s mark £60-£80
