Early Anglo-Saxon Period, Sceatta, Secondary series J [York], type 36, head right with spiky hair, low diadem with three long dies, neat angular drapery, long cross suspended in field, rev. two birds right, one perched atop the other, cross before the larger, 1.14g/4h (cf. SCBI Abramson 401; Abramson 20-10; S 802D). A few metal flaws on the reverse, otherwise very fine, the portrait better and well struck up £200-£260
