British Iron Age, CORIELTAUVI, Uninscribed issues, gold Stater, British I [North East Coast Left type], devolved head of Apollo right, in the form of wreath, cloak and crescents, rev. disarticulated horse left, charioteer’s arms and pellets above, solar pellet below, coffee bean motif before and behind, zigzag and pellet pattern between two exergual lines below, 6.21g/9h (SF 4; ABC 1722; BMC 193-7; VA 804-1; S 29). Struck on a slightly oval flan, as is usual for this type, well-centred and defined, an attractive yellowish flan and about extremely fine, rare £900-£1,200
