British Iron Age, DUROTRIGES, Uninscribed issues, silver Stater, Badbury Rings type, devolved head of Apollo comprising wreath, cloak and crescents, rev. disjointed horse left, rectangular head, body of crescents, twelve pellets above, four vertical legs, pellet below, coffee bean motif behind and pellet in ring motifs around, 5.39g/3h (CCI 98.2093, this coin; ABC 2163; BMC 2729, same dies; VA 1246-1; S –). Struck on an oblong flan, otherwise bright, well-struck up and better than very fine £120-£150
