Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint, Shilling, Gp F/Briot’s hammered issue mule, mm triangle (over anchor, flukes to right on rev.), semi-colon stops, rev. pellet stops, 5.92g/8h (Sharp F5/Briot; Sharp, BNJ 1977, pl. x, 100, same rev. die; SCBI Brooker 530-1, same rev. die; N –; S –). Traces of brooch mount on reverse at 1 and 7 o’clock, otherwise very fine with attractive dark tone, extremely rare £1,000-£1,500
