The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, K.T., Knight’s breast star by Hancock, London, circa 1870, silver with appliqué centre in silver-gilt and enamels, 96mm x 85mm, the reverse backplate inscribed ‘C. F. HANCOCK 39 Bruton Street London’, fitted with gold retaining pin and catch, small chip to enamel on thistle head and one leaf, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare £5,000-£7,000
