Frank Thomas Gorman was born in London on 16 September 1884, and enlisted into the Royal Marine Light Infantry on 20 August 1902. He won the ‘Gunnery’ medal aboard H.M.S. Cornwallis in 1912 and served aboard H.M.S. Exmouth from July 1913 to August 1917, including service in the Dardanelles in 1915, and at Athens in 1916, for which latter he received his M.I.D. and Croix de Guerre.

Sold with copied record of service which confirms all awards and additional entitlement to R.F.R. L.S. & G.C. awarded in July 1931.
