British Iron Age, DUROTRIGES, Uninscribed issues, billon Stater, Spread Tail type, devolved head of Apollo, comprising wreath, cloak and crescents, two-pronged branches above, two pellets above curve of spike, rev. disjointed horse left, small rectangular head, body of crescents, four vertical legs, three diverging lines for tail and three diverging lines before horse, pellets above, coffee bean above tail, large pellet below, 3.71g/2h (ABC 2160 var.; BMC 2662, 2690 var.; VA 1238-1 var.; S –). Struck on an oblong flan, however good fine and an interesting variety £100-£150
