John Penhelick was baptised on 25 January 1639. In 1660 he was valued at £14 and paid poll tax for himself and his family of 6 shillings. He was an assessor of the poll tax in 1660, and appears to have written and signed the return. He contributed £1 towards the Free & Voluntary Present of 1661, and was assessed at 8 hearths in 1664, 2 of which had been blocked up
