William Charles Michael Dundas was born on 29 September 1873. He joined the Indian Police Service and was appointed Assistant Superintendent of Police in February 1895; District Superintendent, July 1904; District Superintendent and Assistant Political Officer, June 1911; Superintendent of Police, April 1912; Superintendent and Political Officer, N.E. Frontier, Assam, October 1912; Inspector General of Police, Assam, January 1921, until his retirement. Mr Dundas was created a Companion of the Indian Empire in June 1913, and has received the King’s Police Medal. William Dundas retired in September 1929, and died on 29 December 1933.
