The lot is sold with an original Divisional citation for the M.M., as printed below, and Certificate of Transfer to Reserve on Demobilization (Army form Z.21.). 'On June 8th south of Hill 60, when a member of a raiding party proceeding to the front line in Battle Wood, a shell burst in the middle of the party and severely wounded the N.C.O. in charge. Private Wood assumed command, rallied the men, and in spite of very heavy shell fire succeeded in getting the rations to their destination.'
