Sold with an old printed label, ‘Leaden Medal. Designed by Gen. Gordon, and distributed by him to the Black troops under his Command in the Garrison of Khartoum, just previous to his assassination, 26 Jan. 1885. Taken from the body of a Black Soldier by Col. R. Kerr Bayly, C.B. 42nd Regt. Mrs E. Bayly’.
