A French World War 2 group of four to Adjutant Maurice Reffray

France, Third Republic, Croix de Guerre 1939, gilt later issue, with gilt star on ribbon; Croix du Combatant; Croix du Resistance Combatant Volontaire; War Commemorative Medal 1939-45, 2 clasps, Liberation, France; together with a ‘F.F.I.’ and another lapel badge, very fine and better (6) £60-80

Sold with a quantity of original documents and papers, including ‘Engage Volontaire’ Card bearing photograph; Ministry of War ‘Livret Individuel’ (duplicate), ‘Carte de Travailleur Frontalier’ bearing photograph; ‘Fiche de Demobilisation’ Armee de l’Air, dated July 1940; birth certificate, school certificates; permits; membership cards etc.

Maurice Reffray was born in Paris on 15 July 1919. A Mechanic by occupation, he volunteered for military service in March 1940 and was demobilized in August 1940. Recalled for service in September 1944, he was demobilized in August 1945.
