Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Alma (3674 Dd. McGhiey, 79 H.), privately engraved, very fine £100-140

David McGahey/McGhiey was born in the Parish of Ardrossan, Ayeshire. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 91st Foot at Ayr on 9 November 1852, aged 20 years. He transferred to the 79th Foot in April 1854. With them he served in the Crimea War and was entitled to the clasps for Alma, Balaklava and Sebastopol. He was discharged at the reduction of the Army and being totally unfil for service on 2 December 1856. Sold with copied discharge papers and roll extracts.
