Herbert George Gale was born in Warsash, Hampshire, on 20 October 1893. A Motor Engineer by occupation, he enlisted into the R.N.A.S. as an Air Mechanic Grade 1 on 16 November 1914. He served at Pembroke III and President II at Crystal Palace and Dunkirk, then at Daedalus at Dunkirk, being advanced to Petty Officer Mechanic on 30 April 1917. Sold with copied service paper.
