Albert Edward Curphey, 15th Battalion (Leeds Pals) West Yorkshire Regiment, killed in action 1.7.1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme. The Battalion’s casualties were 24 Officers and 504 Other Ranks, with only 47 answering the roll call. Sold with extracts from the Regimental history.
