This lot was sold as part of a special collection, The Collection of Medals to the Cheshire and Manchester Regiments, Rifle Brigade and Royal Green Jackets formed by the late David Boniface.

The 1/6th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment was embarked for France in November 1914. moved into positions in the frontline in the following month, and witnessed events during the famous “Christmas Truce”.
