Horace Cowderoy was born on 26 March 1890. Living at 1 Santos Road, Wandsworth and employed as a Billiard Table Manufacturer, he attested for service with the 18th Battalion London Regiment (London Irish Rifles) on 2 September 1914. He served with them in France/Flanders, 9 March-22 June 1915, before returning home as a result of a gunshot wound to the back of his thigh, suffered on 10 June. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the 20th Battalion London Regiment, he was killed in action on 15 September 1916. He was buried in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval. Sold with copied research.
